The money is directly transferred to the farmer’s bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Initially, only small and marginal farmers were eligible, but now it covers all landholding farmers (subject to certain exclusions).

Helps ensure farmers have some steady income, especially helpful during sowing and harvesting seasons.

Direct bank transfer reduces corruption and ensures that the entire amount reaches the beneficiary.
